Penelope Durston Crofter's Jeans - 13 1/2oz Dark Indigo Japanese Selvedge Denim

By Penelope Durston

$315.00
  • 100% Cotton
  • Inspired by the workwear of labourers and farmers of the past, the fabulous Crofter's Jeans by Melbourne designer Penelope Durston are made from Japanese indigo cotton "dead stock" selvedge denim
  • They have been drafted with a slim fit that is not skin tight but rather tailored and beautifully shaped
  • Without an added waist band (which we love), the top is fitted with shapely darts and an adjustable belt at the back with brass hardware that can be adjusted to suit your desired fit and body shape
  • Button fly and side pockets
  • The idea behind this garment is that it can be worn true to size or worn relaxed or oversized by going up one or two sizes allowing the wearer to choose how they like to wear their jeans
  • Our model Mahalia is a size 8 and 177cm tall, she wears a size 1 for a streamlined "true to size" look, then we photographed her in a size 2 and 3 to demonstrate the different looks achieved by going up one or two sizes
  • Please do not wash them every time you wear them, just when they need it in cold water, inside out to preserve the the colour using a mild detergent
  • They have been washed once for shrinkage and will just get better and better with wear, remember they are 100% cotton and do not have added elastane for stretch
  • Available in sizes 1/8AU, 2/10AU, 3/12AU, 4/14AU, 5/16AU, 6/18AU so if you fall between two sizes just go up a size
  • Please see the measurement details noted below to insure best fit for you
  • All sizes have a 77cm inside leg and have a nice deep hem that can be easy folded up and hold its shape beautifully without falling down
  • Made in Melbourne

Measurement information

Penelope recommends they following regarding sizing -

"We have made these jeans from 0 (AU6) through to a generous 6 (AU18). Please have a look at the table included with the photos, this lists the garment measurements for the Crofter’s Jeans and correspond to the photo marked with a., b. and c. The cinch belt gives you around 2 cm each side the waist/cinched measurement. We suggest measuring a garment you may have in your wardrobe to imagine the size and fit you would like. I’ve also added a table of size measurements that we used for drafting the pattern for this garment."
