A beautiful and rare French hand-blown glass dome dating from the 1800s AF, resting on a black-painted timber base. Within, ten butterflies are carefully pinned to a lichen-covered branch, their intricate markings and earthy colours forming a quietly striking natural-history display.

The delicate glass contrasts with the sculptural branches and timeworn base, recalling the intimacy and curiosity of a cabinet of curiosities. A distinctive piece to display on a console, mantelpiece or within a considered collection.

Age-related wear and patina are integral to its character. Please refer to the photographs for details of the butterflies, glass and painted base.

IN-STORE PICK-UP ONLY — THIS ITEM CANNOT BE SHIPPED.

Due to the delicate nature of the glass dome and its contents, collection from our Daylesford store is required.
