Penelope Durston Angora Lambs Wool Fingerless Gloves

These superb medium length cuff fingerless gloves are made from angora (40%) and lambswool (60%) by Melbourne based designer Penelope Durston. Penelope has this gorgeous yarn specially spun for her brand in New Zealand. The yarn is spun in the natural cream colour of the fibre and once knitted, Penelope hand dyes them in small batches in the most wonderful colours, which she is renowned for.

These beautiful gloves are our personal 'go to' every season. They will hold their shape and have a long life, which is why Penelope uses a Japanese lycra yarn to give the gloves stretch and return, and they fit a wide range of hand sizes. The cuff is stabilised with an elastic yarn . Penelope does not wash the gloves to their full fluff as this will develop with wear and washing. And yes, these gloves can be machine washed and tumble dried!

Please be aware, as with most pieces with a fluffy pile this will gradually wear away or pill with use. This is a natural characteristic of both lambswool and angora fibres. Don’t view this as a fault but as a metaphor for the ephemeral nature of life.

Adult fingerless gloves will fit a wide range of hand sizes, they will feel firm to start with but will relax with wear.
