Sourced in France, this elegant late nineteenth-century copper jelly mould has a finely articulated oval form. Stepped Gothic arches encircle the body beneath a crown of eight rounded lobes, giving a practical kitchen object an architectural presence.
Its warm copper surface bears a mellow patina, visible seams and traces of tinning. The tinned interior follows the intricate contours of the exterior. Stamped “F47” and “1 PT”, understood to indicate the pattern reference and one-pint capacity.
A distinctive piece of antique kitchenalia, recalling the elaborate moulded desserts once brought to the table.
Age-related surface wear, small dents and wear to the interior lining. Offered as a decorative antique.
