Market of Stars makes poetry you can wear. They are a female-led clothing brand based in Canada, that creates limited-edition, luminous pieces to light up your heart and your wardrobe. Their prints are produced using environmentally-responsible sublimation printing on natural, soft bamboo & (wood) viscose.
Created to embrace the transformative power of self love and awareness, this stunning printed slip dress combines two magical pieces of art: a lush 1700's landscape of the waterfalls at Tivoli, Italy, and an antique engraving depicting Lady Liberty created by E. Savage in 1796. Market of Stars married these two prints together to produce a rich, beautiful vision of a woman confidently stepping in to her own power.
The painterly palette is romantic and strong, and it looks beautiful layered the Awakening duster (available separately). You can also wear it two ways, with the woman on the front of the skirt, or the back — depending on your mood. Please note: The nature of our viscose means it’s slightly sheer, so we recommend wearing a full or half-slip with this style.
Meet the Luxe Tunic. Market of Stars have taken a wardrobe staple — the humble t-shirt — and elevated it to a chic, easy piece with an oversized cut that’s destined to become a style you’ll reach for daily. Inspired by poet Leonard Cohen’s famous quote “There is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in”, this design celebrates the ways our experiences shape us, and the perfect beauty of imperfection. Created using pieces of Delft tile from the 1700’s — including two Italianate landscape scenes — we chose to leave in the cracks and slight imperfections from the original ceramic in our final print. The two patterns in the trim come from an 1867 British book on classical ornamentation, and an earthenware plaque from the Netherlands painting.
Gentle machine wash or hand-wash using a mild eco detergent, hang to dry in shade.
Available in two sizes S/M L/XL.
